What kind of project isthis?

The research project "Recovering workers' data to negotiate and monitor collective agreements in the platform economy", GDPoweR for short, is funded by the European Commission and carried out by the European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research together with partners in Austria, Belgium, France, Poland, and Spain.
‍In the project, we are investigating what data digital labour platforms such as Uber, Lieferando or Foodora collect about their workers and how the collection and use of this data can be regulated by collective agreements and company-level agreements (Betriebsvereinbarungen). To this end, we want to help platform workers obtain copies of the personal data collected about them by platforms and to jointly analyse this data with them. We are also looking for platform workers who want to donate their data to us for research purposes.

How do I getmy data?

According to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to receive a copy of your personal data collected by a company. There are several ways to request your data, which differ in terms of their scope and the response time.

We have templates and will be happy to help you request a copy of your data
. If you are interested, come to the workshop and/or send an email to geyer@euro.centre.org.

How can I make my data available to the project?

We need personal data donated by workers for some of our analyses. If you would like to support our research by donating your data, please contact us. We will give you a ‘data donation contract’ in which we explain how we will use it and to what end. After signing the contract, you can donate your data via a USB stick, email, or filesharing service.
