How much vacation do I have?
You are entitled to 5 weeks of vacation per year.
When can I start taking vacation?
For the first 6 months, you will receive your vacation on a pro rata basis (approximately 2 working days per month with a 5-day week). From the start of the 7th month, you are entitled to your entire 5 weeks. From then on at the start of your working year (contract start), you will receive the next - full - annual vacation.
What happens with vacation that I don't use?
Vacation expires after 2 years after the end of the year in which the vacation was taken, i.e. 3 years. It can only be paid out if you have ended your employment relationship and if there is still any remaining vacation.
How do I calculate the remaining vacation and how much is it?
To calculate the days of remaining vacation, see here. The amount of the sum requires the current number of hours per week and the working days remaining vacation that are outstanding: Remaining vacation (days)/5 * hours per week * hourly rate.
I fell ill while on vacation - what should I do?
If you are ill on vacation for more than 3 days and inform your employer immediately, the vacation days will be refunded to you from the 4 day sick leave. However, you absolutely must submit a sick note from your doctor.
